Hello all, I am planning to move my static site to wordpress. The problem I am facing is i want to maintain the current directory structure of my site. Currently it is lik site/tutorials/photoshop/tutorial1.html I tried using this permalink /%category%/%postname%.html it shows like site/tutorials/tutorial1.html I have created both tutorials and photoshop as a category. Also tried making tutorials as parent category and photoshop as child category. But it only shows only one category name. Is there any way to show main category followed by sub category in the permalink ? If I am able to do it. It would be easy for me to move my static site to wordpress. Please help. Thank You ..:: peace ::.. Jeba
Hey dude... Yes... assign your post to your subcategory only. Do not assign it to the parent category. Like in your case. If you make a post tutorial1 then assign it to photoshop subcategory ONLY and NOT to both of tutorials and photoshop categories. Wordpress kinda gives preference to the main category in the permalinks. So this should solve your problem .
Thanks for the help.. It worked just fine... You deserve some green reps Thank you ..:: peace ::.. Jeba
There is also a plugin to define the main category, when a post is assigned to several different categories. You can find it here.
