I was wondering how forums help get traffic?do you need a list of directories where you submit and how do you work with them?please help
How forums help you get traffic. In high traffic, targetted forums, you can get visitors who click links on your signatures. A sticky thread will help as well. If you have a tool which is good, a link from a forum ( a user mentioning it in a thread)can help promote it.
To start a new forum it is best to create a few different usernames and post around a bit on your own, that way others will be more inclined to sign up because it doesn't appear inactive.
Yeah, if you don't want to pay others to post, I suggest doing this. It may seem weird having conversations with yourself, but it helps bring in some members.
My advice is to build a successful media site and then give it a forum once it's established. It's much easier to attract users when your site has content other than the forum.

Posting in as many forums as possible can increase traffic. However, make sure not to spam and try to comment on forums that are within your target market
