Backlinks : Google vs Yahoo

    My blog is only one month old and it already have 1200 inlinks in Yahoo site explorer. And, its yet to count a single backlink in Google..
    What does that mean?

    Google does not always display all the backlinks of a website. I do not know why, but this happens very often.

    Its normal.. Just wait for the google updates.. Google backlinks usually updates every 3 months.. But this is not so sure..

    Even don't care about backlinks being reported in Google.

    Only care about 'keeping' backlinks intact with the passage of time.

    Just wait. Search engines don't check your site everyday for indexing. It takes time for google to notice backlinks

    There is nothing to wait for. Google will never show all links which you know from Yahoo.

    because both are different search engines and both have different algos.

    but you can be sure both can see the same links but google does not shows all the backlinks

    Google display only a random samples of backlinks, you can see the real number of your links in google webmaster tools.

    It is very common to have few backlinks in google as compared to yahoo. Both google and yahoo search results based on different criteria. Both of them use a different algorithm. Yahoo will list all your backlinks while google will list backlinks to high ranked pages. You can use google webmaster to check your actual backlinks in google.

    Google does not show all links , it is good for a webmaster , otherwise competitor for the same keywords can buy/beg links from all webpages that link to a website.
    From my experience I have found techies use mostly google to search for stuff, so even if you rank well in yahoo for some technical keywords, no body searches them in yahoo.

    Google and Yahoo Both have different strategy to look the website and backlinks. Google will show your backlink shortly.
