I have heard that inbound links from other website improve the page rank of the target website. Is it true ? High page rank web sites are highly ranked in the search engines. Is that true?

 

Forget PR and just worry about obtaining relevant site links to your site.

 

i don't really think that pagerank help us in this matter..

only the sites linking to you using the same anchor can help you get better SERP in search engine..

 

Link exchages can get you in trouble

 

yes inbound links improve page-rank.
high page-rank websites are ranked highly due to the huge number of backlinks that they have pointing to their sites, however a lower page-rank site can outrank a high page-rank one

 

Its not so much about quanity than about quality

Its like booze. A rich guy enjoys quality and is respected. The bum is in the street trying to drink up large amounts of poor quality.

 

Try obtaining the most relevant links that fit with your site. No higher page rank does not mean that you will be higher ranked in G. Focus on..on page relevance and gaining links from relevant on topic sites.....And not just any site that is related either....

 

Try get links from any website that is related to you and seems like a trusted website.Don't participate in link farming with some websites that do that and do not rely on the target website PR in order to get links.Get links from PR 0 too,it will not hurt u.

 

sometimes i see not so related sites on my site using "link:site.com" command

 

I have had a standing "link exchange" with my clients for 11 years which used to give a little boost to my new web clients starting fresh with a new domain, etc. In the past 3 or 4 years, I'd say that the small link exchange I have in effect helps very little compared to what it used to. I would tend to agree that it's now quality over quantity. One good, relevant link is probably going to help more than a dozen random links.

 

yes inbound links will improve your pagerank. and getting a link on a high pagerank page will improve yours....but focus on getting related links and your site should rank higher for the term you want.

google has become very sharp for link market

 

You need to be very careful with link exchanges

Some relevant exchages are o.k. but you will need a balanced link profile.

 

And google does not give much weight anymore in link exchange.

 

In my opinion, if you make really good content it will eventually become "worth linking", and links will come sooner or later so you don't have to vorry about them.
"Links exchange" scripts are no good...
