Google's Strategy

I have read somewhere that Google does not emphasize on META TAGS but Google emphasizes on BOLD <b> tag. Is that true? What about other search engines?

 

IMO it's true. And also emphasizes <h2> to <h6> tags.

 

you can use <strong></strong> label instead of <b>

 

Italics too.

 

Google most important factor to rank high in their search engine is getting backlinks with your keyword in the anchor text, So what ever your onpage optimization keep on building quality links.

 

^ Correct.. keyword/phrase on the anchor text that are done in "variations"... doing it the same keyword text in thousands is seen as "unatural" therefore degraded.... and yes, googlebombing is already dead, according to MC.

On on-page.. meta keyword is being ignored by google nowadays due to abuse *it wasn't me* but meta description seems to be still effective. IMO

also consider keyword prominence...

put your keywords on top of the page.

 

It also consider title as an important thing having more priority than page rank in some way..... read it in google forums. Nothing personal

 

you should emphasize your most important words on a page....such as using italics or bold....putting your whole page in bold defeats the purpose because all your text is on the same level

 

alt tags can help a little. but don't spam them out.
