NO SERPS for the targetted keyword

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by markov, Aug 14, 2007.

Till yesterday, i did had a decent SERP for various keywords in Google, but today morning all of the sites disappeared from the top places for the targetted keywords. No where in the the top 20..or top40 pages. Even the blog results disappeared overnight. What could be the reason?

    My site is http://www.onlinedownloads.org

I'm sorry if this is wrong place for a analysis on my site. If it is that MOD, could you please move the thread to the right category.

    Thanx in advance.

Does the web hosting has any role in this? Say if the google crawls the site when the sever was down for maintenance reasons, will it cause this sort of adverse effect?

That was the issue when Google Webmaster tool reported that the site has been crawled on Aug8. But today when i checked out the same, the last crawled date was on Aug13. Interestingly from Aug13th onwards, I'm facing this problem.

Last week may be on Aug6th or so ... i've changed the images in my site to beatingadwords-affiliate-marketing-ebook-graphic.jpg from beatingadwords.jpg

Is this anything to do with the fall of SERP? Except this change i've nothing added or deleted.

    Welcome to the club: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=424706

It's most likely google that is causing the problem. PR update is coming and if you ask me they are changing their algo again :(

You can't do anything against this...just wait and hope for the best!

According to me server down or changing names of images will not affect your ranking, rather it can be considered as Google dance, just wait and watch and don't do any major change to your site for gaining back the results.
    Keep patience.

Well given the nature of .org and your retail ad revenue earnings that may be a start.

.org's by IRS references would likely be NON-Profit.

Whereby you are most certainly FOR-Profit it seems.

That is just one of a few possible reasons. Not sure google would chuck you for it but I'd be safe and move to a .com (commercial) domain TLD

Also have you undertaken link building of the kind a certain search engine might not like??

if your web hosting is not down, it will not be a criteria for the serp.

i think your site will come back in 2-3 weeks. i believe it's temp. problem for these days

    Hi Markov,

I checked your site code and nothings seems wrong (fast checking).

I see you are using Google analytics so why don't you contact Google representative to tell you the reason for this change.

I believe this is the place where you should find your answer.

And if you did something that confronts Google's code of conduct, just change it and they will put you back in the system.

    Regards

I just searched for two of the headings from your page and the Google SERPs returned two of your subdomains in the top 20.

That's a little hyphen heavy. You can target other keywords in the title and alt tags.

Hi! liamvictor! Just checked my site...

Back to my SERP problem, Last night i noticed that my site got its place back into the Google...this time on 2nd page. But sometimes i see there...the other times...it's again off...no where again. May be something like DANCING. So presently what i could do is...leave that for sometime.

Most of the members feel that I should add the content to the site. But in my website I review the products ... so addition of the content on regular basis is not possible. Only possibility is that the content can be modified.

So keeping in mind, I've started a BLOG at http://www.onlinedownloads.org/diary . I used to post articles in the BLOG. Even that got good SERP. But last week, I've started a new blog (http://www.topwebdownloads.com) thinking that a new domain will be fresh and separate.

So the present problem is should i consider updating the old blog which has url extension ....or should i go with a brand new domain.

Please do suggest me the BEST option.

My site is having a similar problem, dropped completely out of my home DC, ran a check and it's still there and even thriving on the other datacenters I checked. I would say that this must be a reranking, and hopefully my home DC is a late updater rather than an early one. Also, many directories, large ones, have recently stopped ranking, which is causing a panic in that subforum. Hold tight and mumble a prayer or two to the Google god. May the Lord have mercy on our sites.
