Ok i did my mistake and i am here to share it with you all so no one do it.

Before 2 months i submited my site www.naxos-rooms.com in BOTW
free sponsorship trial and they were accepted. So i decided this month with the 25%discount and based in the fact that have allready accepted for sponsorship to pay the big money they asked allthought they dont do a refund in case of rejection. And oops:eek: my site was rejected.
I was between alive or aviva or BOTW and obviously i was made the wrong decision!

you certainly did. alive and aviva would be my top priority over botw any day...

You should contack botw and get a refund. perhaps you will if you explain what happened.

Sites are accepted as Sponsors under different guidelines regardless of what BOTW may say about it. I had a directory rejected when submitted to the directory, but they had no problems accepting it as a sponsor.

It's unfortunate that you were rejected, it's easy to see how someone could get the impression that if a site is accepted as a category sponsor, it would also be accepted as a regular listing within the directory. It also easy to see by the route you took that different guidelines apply to category sponsor and submissions.

Have you contacted BOTW and explained the situation and requested a refund? It might not be a bad idea.

they have contact me.Saying that i have to sugest an other site for review that was the only option that they give me so far...

as for the quality of BOTW is not under dought i believe is an authority for the directories. But i cant nderstand their policy of no refunding thats crazy!
i submitted only based to the fact that if t was acceptable for sponsorship it will be acceptable for listing.
is like having a store and accept a product to be in the front of your store but not accepted to be inside your store. That is insane.

Does seem pretty insane, you say they offered you a review of a different site, but did they offer you an explanation for the rejection of the original one?

Some directories are more lenient with sponsored listings because it simply pays more. Also, sponsored listings are more like advertisements, while regular listings are more like reference/business listings.

That's my take on it. I think they allow more for sponsored because it is an advertisement rather than an actual directory listing.

Sorry to hear about your situation. This once again re-enforces why I would NEVER consider submitting my sites there nor ANY directory that adopts this "no refund" policy

My money was refunded based on the fact of sponsoring and directory listing.
But i am still thinking to get listed there.....but i have to know for sure that if i am not listed i will be refunded in my opinion that is a big issue for people not making the move to sugest their site there even thought it is going to be aproved.
So i am happy that i get my money back and ready to spend it on a permanent link to a authority directory.
    Sugestions?

I had one of my directories rejected for category sponsorship due to "lack of unique content". I would expect that a directory that was accepted for category sponsorship should have no problems being listed as a regular link. BOTW sure has a weird policy, I will never submit my sites to them after this.

I am glad to hear you got a refund.

I know the terms are clearly stated, but...

How can anyone justify keeping an $80 "review fee" after rejecting a site on the basis of "lack of content."

If there is a lack of content, the review must not have taken that long.

I could understand not refunding a portion of the review fee for time spent reviewing, but $80 for what probably took them 5-10 minutes...WTF?

Sounds to me like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen...

Yea...I had a site rejected by BOTW some time ago. I haven't tried to submit anything to them since. I'm just not down with the whole "we keep your money if we reject you" stance.

    Aaaaaaawwww man.

Ur site's translated in 7 different languages.

I don't think they approve many sites to enter their directory.

Alot of people have said something similar that their site was rejected.

They just want the 'Best of the Web' I guess.

    Who know's.

As soon as I'm done with some stuff on my sites, their going into Yahoo & Business.com

I would put your site in Alive & Aviva.

Their nice little directories with decent traffic.

    I mean whaddaya gotta lose?

U can try it for a year and if u don't like it, u can always cancel right.
