I am thinking of adding a forum to my wordpress site but I don't know any forums I could use. I just wanted to know which type of forum would be the best to use and which one is easiest to install?

    Thanks :)

If budget is not your problem, go with vbulletion. Otherwise, phpBB. I believe, they've just released Version 3

You may also refer to this thread to give you more ideas.

I don't remember it being too difficult. The nice thing about SimpleForum is they have a great support forum. If you're concerned about data loss, backup your database first.
