My forum has been barraged by bots with the ip address 74.52.144.18 that leads to ThePlanet.com... hundreds and hundreds of bots... at complete random. So I phone em, and they say to email abuse. So I emailed abuse. And I sent pictures of their IP address and pictures of their whois info.

    So I sent them.

    So I sent them.

And I really don't understand all that to be honest.

    Then finally,

So I told him it was bullshit and he knew it. I want those bots off my site and I need some help going about that.

    Thanks.

    Because they use proxies.

Block each individual proxy, otherwise I dont know what you can do. Except use better anti spam measures or just threaten to sue the company bots coming from.

We have dealt with the Planet with these types of issues. The simply do not care until you get legal with them. So you are going to have to get a lawyer to send them a letter or get a better antibot system going.

These bastards tried this shit on DP as well. And gave the same answer when asked.
Threaten them with legal action, make it sound serious and see how they reply.

report them to ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers)

ICANN is responsible for the global coordination of the Internet's system of unique identifiers. These include domain names (like .org, .museum and country codes like .UK), as well as the addresses used in a variety of Internet protocols. Computers use these identifiers to reach each other over the Internet. Careful management of these resources is vital to the Internet's operation, so ICANN's global stakeholders meet regularly to develop policies that ensure the Internet's ongoing security and stability.

    http://www.icann.org/

what is ICANN well it is the Domain registrar police force, if a registrar does not remove a domain that is causing threats to internet security, then ICANN Has the powers to force them to do so with threats of removing the registrars rights to be a domain registrar.

in other words whoever this ip# (74.52.144.18) is assigned to or the registrar of this domain (ThePlanet.com) can be forced to act to remove it, or warn them to improve their conduct. with threats to the registrars own status if they fail to act on an ICANN warning.

ICANN is a stupid loser site that do nothing at all about your reports. I have reported several IP address's to them. They don't even reply to the first email. I have checked my spam.

shows how much you know.
i have had one site shut down with a report to ICANN, sending them an email about an email spam you got is not gonna do anything.
sending them a full detailed report, with full details of your efforts to address the problem with the ISP, registrar, in the 1st place, then left with no other option but to forward everything to ICANN then you get results.

ICANN wont do anything until you have tried every other means open to you. once you have done all you can with an ISP or registrar, then you can contact ICANN. and they do act if you prove a case.

i know i had a site shut down when the registrar failed to act, but it took 3 months after i contacted ICANN
