    Visible pagerank only updated once every three or four months. Pagerank is based on links. Keep working on obtaining link to your site as well as improving it.

    No need to be sad. Do what Smyrl just said and you'll be happy soon.

    You might also want to remove to number of outgoing links (link exchange sites) on your frontpage and use a special page for that.

    Is this site fairly new?

    My suggestion is to hunt through your site with a fine tooth comb making sure you are doing nothing to violate google's TOC.

    After that, all I can suggest is to have patience.
