Few questions on sites passing pagerank...

    Hi guys,

    Got a really basic question.

    1. If i own a pr4 site, and i give links to others site, what pagerank would the site get from a single PR4 link. No other links.

    2. How many links can a PR4 page give out, before it devalues the PR4, or the other sites stop getting the amount of pagerank they recive from the link.

    3. How do you get a PR4 on all pages of your site, instead of just the index. Do you need backlinks from other sites to each page on your site?

    Thanks for answering these questions...

    :)

    Answers in same order:

    1) It might or might not get any PR. It depends on your PR 4 link relevance, outgoing links etc. I would say maybe PR 1

    2) There is no definate value for how many links you can give out. Its always good not to overdo. I guess anything above 5-6 links static links on each page can be too dangerous. I am talking about blogroll as static. Hope you dont want to build a link farm :D

    3) You can link all your pages from homepage. so If you homepage gets PR 6, your inner pages could get PR3-5, well in most case. Internal links are very important which people always neglect.

    Reps appreciated!

    Reps given ;)

    Cheers for the answer.

I'm thinking of starting a directory.

I have 4 PR4 websites, and i thought if i buy 4 or 5 PR5 links aswell as the 4 PR4 links from my site, i could get a PR4 directory, to link to my other sites, and to maybe sell some featured links.

They are all on differnt ip's so it should be ok.

I just wanted to see what other sites would benifit from a pr4 link.

Maybe i will have to own 2 PR4 directories, to pass about a PR3 to the new websites.

    Cheers

BTW, i have to tell you that a pagerank (4) wevbsite with one outgoing link could give pagerank (3) to the linked website depending on my experience.

Agree with you. I own a website with PR5 which has only one PR6 backlink.

IEmailer, as i said it varies, some get higher some get lower. But atleast Pr 1 can be definately expected.

PR is not so straight forward as we might think. It should more calculation that purely calculating backlinks number

There are two things you should keep in mind about PageRank:

    (1) Sites don't have PageRank. Pages have PageRank.

    (2) Based on the original PageRank forumula, the amount of PageRank value passed on by any link is roughly equal to the PageRank score of the page where the link resides divided by the number of links on that page.

If you vote someone in elections.
Does it value your status as a citizen???

    Certainly NO.

    Same is the case here.

    BUT
You must be very careful to link to low quality websites.
