On Adsense you are not allowed to encourage anybody to click the adverts. What about with Chitika? Can you say, "Browse through our range of products and use our price comparison engine."? Jon
I am trying to work out how to do a page with a generic text with the keywords targetted merged into the body copy. Any examples of how to do this without breaking TOS?
Considering they allow you to plug keywords right into the code, I doubt there would be an issue. Ask 'em. They may even implement it. Currently they link to a script for pulling keywords from a visitor's SE search String and inserting them into the ad, so they are pretty liberal there. EDIT: I may have misunderstood. Are you talking about a page with nothing but keywords and Chitika? Bad Karma if so.
here's a novel idea - what about creating a genuinely useful page with real content. Then....bear with me while I get really radical.....put the chitika ads on it using keywords that match your genunie content and.....we're going to be very crazy and outside the box here....let the readers click on them naturally because the ads match the content. Wacky idea but it could just work - and we might not all get banned from Chitika for trying to game the system.
I want to know what Chitika's criteria is. Whether or not I game the system is irrelevant so long as I am within their terms.
Not that I would ever suggest it, but if you asked a friend to click on your ad Chitika would never know...have them click on more than one and you might find out what it's like to get banned!!! I do NOT recommend this!!!
I suppose I hang on the edge by mentioning the price of the article in the chitika (with prices starting from.. ) or by saying "If you look around, you can find a good deal" etc.. While it doesn't point you directly to clicking on the banner, I think saying things like that can make someone curious to investigate the price on the banner below the review and maybe click it. What kinds of suggestive phrases can you guys come up with?
