If you are a newbie like me in affiliate marketing, then you most likely don't have funds to do PPC advertising for any affiliate program. One thing is true without clicks your website is dead in the water. I started my first blog on the 26th of August and managed made $250 in that week (http://www.satellitepctv.wordpress.com). I didn't even spend a dime advertising. The most important thing as a newbie is to try and leverage your time on promoting your blog without necessarily using advertising for traffic. PPC and other internet methods are expensive if you don't know what you are doing. And trust me there is a lot to learn before you decide to spend that dollar like writing a good add copy, Tweaking to increase the CTR (Click through Rates),optimizing your ad bids to maximize impressions without going overboard the most effective types of online ads (sponsored, adwords, banners,etc I looked for a software on click bank that i could promote and settled on pc 2007 elite edition. This had the highest conversion ratios and less return rates. I needed an effective way that i could use to market for free on the internet for my first blog on satellite tv on pc softwares. So i went and wrote about 20 articles on several PC satellite tv software reviews subjects related to satellite TV on computer softwares. I built up my website in a day and posted the articles on several ezines, then waited. Sure enough i had a sale on the first day, 2 on the second, 5 on the third and it kept getting better. Right now im in a frenzy of writing them articles. I never actually thought it possible that i could earn any money online. The best method i have found is to pick a product to promote from click bank, write several short articles based on my reviews of the product and then post these in the above ezines. Interesting method well done i think 'review' type articles are definitely among the most effective for getting targeted traffic to your site for no outlay.

Great tips... I would like to add as well not to forget mass submission as well. Sites such as Article Marketer and ISnare make it possible to submit to 500-700 sites on the net at once. I have had articles picked up thru Yahoo groups and syndicated thru lists and personal ezines that have brought loads of sales and website traffic literally overnight. We could go into the duplicate content issue but I personally syndicate articles in bulk as a way for backlinks and in hopes of them catching momentum and a better chance of massive exposure. I think another thing is with article marketing that sites you suggested carry good pagerank and you can often rank highly in search engines for the given terms you have optimized for. Some general tips on that would be a properly optimized title inlcuding your keywords and just a general optimization of the keywords that flow naturally in your article text. You can take a step further and get backlinks to the article as well. There are many ways to do this, as I do it with software to automate the process, but getting one article from 3-5 high pagerank directories is always a good thing. Though I noticed after about a month Google will trim some of those sites out and ultimately leave you with 1-2 results. Still though, it is great for initial growth from the article. It doesn't always have to be difficult. I started out as a Ghostwriter for companies such as Associated Content and MPAM. Michael Russell's editor is very informative on how they want their content articles to be. If you can take some constructive criticsm when you first start, then writing for people like this can help develop your writing efficiency, intuition and and even give you the skills necessary for niche research.

I loved your post as I am a Huge fan of Aricle Marketing If I were to add my 2 cents ... I would recommend writing articles on "Long Tail Key Phrases" and make sure to use the phrase in the title , in your anchor text and if possible in the URL of the landing page that the article will link to. I have written many articles based on this principal that are now ranked #1 on Google, Yahoo and MSN It's a very powerful method of getting top rankings and loads of traffic
