Older blog posts disappear from Google..why?

    Hi everyone,

My blog is fairly new, but I've had decent success with Google. However, I noticed that search traffic for two of my more popular articles suddenly stopped and it doesn't appear that they're in Google's index anymore. They were only about three weeks old. I'm not sure why this would be - all my SEO efforts have been "white hat". I've checked in at Webmaster Tools and everything seems to be fine with the site crawl.

It's been about a week. Is there a chance this is temporary? Does Google fiddle with the results occasionally? What can one do to prevent this?

    Thanks!

When was the last time you update your blog? You should update your blog every now and then.. remember that site/blog with a fresh contents is favorite by the bots to crawl..

Nah...I update two or three times daily, and there's a lot of interlinking. Any other ideas?

duplicate content maybe where other sites are republishing your work? I couldnt see them punishing you this badly however.
Maybe its sandboxed whilst google figures out if it is good content or not.

To be honest if i knew what google was thinking i could be a very rich consultant :) Hope they help.

Google is using their FeedBurner site to rank blogs at the top for current content. As time goes on, the "current events" post slip back in SERP's. It part of Google's new two-fold plan to balance current data with longer term data. Bloggers have been noticing this effect for almost 3 months now. Nothing to worry about...
