    Hello,

After getting burned by 2 webhosts now and ruining my rep for webhosting here on DP because of them. I would like to compose a list of webhosts to stay away from.

I see it happen all the time and so many times its happend to me were it is super unreliable and many other problems.

    here is my list:
    Shoutserv.com
    aznx.net
    numberonehost.co.uk

    DP members:
    serverside(banned now)

I hope we can get a nice large list here and maybe have this sticky'd so people know when they come here when they are planning on purchasing webhosting.

DO NOT POST YOUR WEBHOSTING OFFERS HERE!!!!

Your input will help make DP a safer place :)

    Thank you,
    ~Gahoo

All offers like unlimited space/bandwidth,etc I think MUST delete by mods here.
    It isnt such a thing.
Customers pay for these as they Imagine that they find the host of their dreams with 1-2 bucks. After 1-2 months they come here and bash the company...
    Just These,
    Alex

    That is very true.

Though i see people all the time offering "unmetered hosting" trying to make it sound better.. but no matter how you look it.. It is just not possible and since my experience i know for sure those types of servers are always down.

Thank you very much for your input ZaxiHosting.

The most frustrating thing is when someone offer Unmetered hosting for life lol! They offer such a package at such a low price that it would cost a cadbury chocolate only. :D

I 100% agree, the hosting world has been totally hurt by all these hosts offering "unlimited" and like $5 a year hosting. A lot of customers now say $5 a month or $10 a month for a decent hosting package is to much, they will only buy like $2 hosting and it's so annoying.

Web hosting centric sites like webhostingtalk.com will not allow unlimited offers or life time offers. Users posting them will be banned from their site. Around here it's an anything goes lets scam as many users as possible then when shit hits the fan lets run!

    UPDATE:

I've found another scammer that has changed sites to try and get more people.

    DO NOT USE DREAMHOST

they over sell their servers, steal domains, shut down paid for hosting accounts, have long down times (weeks at times), and almost no support.

    DREAMHOST SUCKS

get some VPN hosting for like $30 a month and go

Another 1 to stay away form is homeworkershosting.c0m.
I havent seen them on here but they sell on ebay and i had a site with hosting from them, real bad uptime + i kept geting hacked on there servers.when i tell them my isues they simply said find a new host, was paying$3 per month

then i went to shoutserve$2 per month for reseller40gb,they sucked more so i went from bad to worse.
I curently with a good host with no downtime and no hackers.
now paying $13 per month and ime happy so are my clients

Most unlimited hosts are scams but some are not, also it is possible to have unmetered bandwidth.

There is a lot of hosting companies that offer 10^x GB web space and x>1000.
Everything is ok if you do not use too much resources.
But try to use at least 50% of payed resources and your account will be closed!
That is a tactic of ultra mega giga large web hosting companies!

I'd put godaddy.com and netfirms.com on that list myself

Almost every host that has it's own control panel is overselling and a punch of 3rd party control panel hosting are resellers as well

This post clears some things up about web hosting business and gives the clients some hints about what happens in the industry background

Finally I just say that overselling has it's target market, there are clients that won't ever sign up with this kind of unlimited or too good to be true stuff because they are not into dirt cheap stuff while others would buy that because they are on low budgets or they think they have got a good deal while on the long run they lose more than they thought they earned !
