I had a little time on my hands, so I checked out a hunch I’ve had for some time. I looked at 600 posts in three different DP forums, looking for members with six or more green blobs of reputation. In these 600 posts I found 85 members with 6 or more green rep blobs. Here’s the statistic I was looking for: • 74% of these higher-rep members had one or more directory links in their signatures. • The other 26% had no directory links (or no links at all) in their signatures. My conclusion: We often hear that “Content is king.†But it is apparent that “Directories are king†when it comes to rep points!
