Image Tracker - new idea - custom coded

The idea is to allow you as a user to send a mail to a friend/relative that contains an image and whenever this person sees it, you are notified by email about that.
The site is custom coded.

To test it, use the recipient and originator email to be your emails (or same email).
As soon as you view the image or click on the link to the image, you get an email saying that you have seen the picture.

The nice thing is that, the image ends with a jpg/gif/png, not giving the illusion of having a tracking mechanism behind it.

edit: when you test this out, some email systems may flag this as spam, so make sure you check your junk folder. Email body can be altered.

 

pretty nifty, heres a few suggestions for ya:

when I tested it, I noticed the sender name was "image tracker" the recipient will think its spam, replace that with the recipient name variable.

Also, you should allow for a subject.

Nice script..but thats pretty much what you're selling, you would probably have more success selling licenses of the script.

exactly, the email body and subject can be altered to look more decent. I used simple text as a demo. It's the script behind the scenes that count.

2 words? well it is summed up on the website's opening msg.
It works on most standard hostings, given it allows outgoing mails.

I tried this like 3 times and haven't received any emails with pics or anything is this site currently working

 

yes it is, check your junk box they might be there. This can be avoided probably by tweaking the message content.
Also, check the result at the top of the page after uploading. you may have tried to upload a file of size larger than 250kb, or a format that is not allowed, etc.

 

I gave the site a test. It e-mailed the image to my gmail account instantly, and the confirmation of the image being viewed was also instant.

onekgb, i checked the log, you did not upload files successfully. you have to check the message you get after the upload at the top. you either tried to upload a file above the set limit, or a file of a file type that wasn't accepted.
