All the best.. I was doing just that at one point of time, not for the PR but entice the blogger to blogroll me by befriending. COmmenting was the best way..

    Thanks for the links :)

Just check the source of the page.
Go to View in the main menu of the browser and click page source.
Find the url you are looking for. see if it has a rel=nofollow in the link.

eg for the mobile blog u gave, i did a find for top commentator, ans found the links are worthless. it links to the profile of the commenter, and not the live link.

Great advice... but would you necessarily say to comment on blogs that are in the same niche as another's blog or site is about?

These are awesome sites Thanks, I've just added many of them to my feed reader. My opinion is all of these sites deserve the PR they have for the hard work that is going on within them.

Please see this post http://onemansblog.com/2007/08/15/terms-of-use-and-universal-comment-link-philosophy/ done just recently regarding commenting.

I can't help but wonder..is this thread helping or hindering him in his ongoing quest to stop the spam comments he is getting.

I suppose as long as they are following the 'terms of use' that the thread is talking about, all should be fine.

    Did I say Spam? :)

What is the Top Commentator Plugin all about?

    Bloggers love Comments.

The number of comment counts is a kind of ego massage.
WHy would someone put the PLUGIN.
That is just to encourage people to Comment by coming to the website other than reading it off feed readers.

And he is smart enough to weed out a spam, and he will surely delete comment spams.

I was just giving out a way to get good links, and if someone here is foolish enough to spam it, than he will never get a link, be it here be it elsewhere.

We all send link request mails. It can either be a Nice mail or a Spam mail.

    the choice is yours.

    I for one condone Spams.
But writing good comments is not spam as long as you Participate in the conversation started by the blog post. You get rewarded for participated in the discussion

I think the default reset is monthly, but some do change it to weekly.

TechBuzz has nofollow too, just to let you know. In fact, are any of these dofollow?

Does it matter to Google or Yahoo's algorithms if links pointing in to your site are from 'nofollow' referrers?
