..because us pasty-white gringos look better with a little color.. and oh, FYI - my brother, who tanned all the time when he was younger, goes in next week to get a malignant melanoma removed from his scalp.. then he starts his chemo...
It gives people a better complexion i think that is why they all go mad for it and get skin cancer in latter life!
I think tanning is ok, but like everything, don't go overboard. Otherwise, when you are old (if you make it to be old and don't die of cancer), you will be one wrinked, dark, prune.
Who told you that? The rest of the world is trying to look lighter straightening hair, trying not to look too dark, the lighter you are the better? Sounds like you and your brother were brainwashed by racism.
IF not done right (or if you use cheap cream) it turns yellow-ish orange-ish (like I said) PLUS it goes on your palms which makes it really weird too lol
i worked at a tanning salon for a while...people like to look tanner because they feel they look skinnier/ more good looking. I think people feel better with the exposure to the sun..some vitamin d
One reason might be they never experience it. As long it looks good on them I don't care with them besides its their life.
For me, it's not about getting a tan. It's just about spending time outdoors. Whether it's on the beach or doing yardwork (or going to the waterpark like I am doing on Friday...), I like to be outside. A tan is a natural by-product of being outdoors.
Sun tanning means while trying to look good (at least thats what those that do it think), you are actually making yourself look older because sun damage can take its toll.
Never been a problem for me. As a red head i can't tan without burning so i prefer to stay white rather than risk skin cancer
