What's the bot agent string for the blogsearch bot?

    Does anyone know the agent string for the bot that fetches feeds for google blogsearch?

    With the recent addition of the ability to block rss feeds from being indexed by adding a meta tag to them it would be nice if you could block that just for plain googlebot and not loose all the blogsearch traffic...

    Are you sure there is a seperate bot for blog search this is news to me. :)

    i think there is no bot like you mention.

    you will be able to see only googlebot agent on your pages

    There is NO bot for blogsearch.

    I made a very detailed post on blogsearch and google bot. Once again for you and others:

    so bottomline is there is no bot. Just ping google blogsearch here: http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2 from your wordpress blog. If you have blogspot, it will be automatically pinged just submit your blog to google blogsearch.
