I'd say concentrate working on your SERPs ranking...the PR will come.

Today is day 113. So far the longest time between PR updates is 122 days, so all we can say is this is one of the longest. Will it be longer than 122 days and become the "new record longest time" ??? No way to know until it happens. Will it really occur? Yes. The prob is: will it be good for us when it does FINALLY update...???

Nah its going to happen... we just need to be a little more patient! Although a Google spy will have read that comment now and will devalue you're directory to PR-1! :D

It will happen .... Google will always have a ranking system ... if it's called PageRank or WebRank or something else .. they will have something. It's just a matter of time before they sort themselves out to update "The Rank" ;)

People that have links from unrelated sites (paid or not) will loose out the most in this update regardless on how low or high their PR currently is ...... The people that will benefit the most are those which have links (paid or not) from related sites....

    That's what i think anyway...

    Cheers ....
    Gerald.

This time google is taking more time to update the PR and I think this update will be very strict and a bit shocking for the website owners.

this isn't even the longest period between updates.... we still have a couple days to break that record (122 days), so really most of you are probably freaking out for nothing.

There is zero chance that Google won't update Toolbar PR.
    But remember 2 things: toolbar is just a snapshot, you already have PR even if it's not showing yet;
and also, PR is still important, but is not as important as in the past for SERPs.

It's not a question of "PR is important" or "PR is not important". We need the visible PR just for a hint to the value of a web page.

There is no other metric for this, so webmastersdefenitely need something like the PR.

Pagestrength is not an alternative. Because

    - the calculation of PS includes the PR
    - there are number of factors (like domz listing) which is irrelevant for determinig the value of a single page

    the biggst problem is:
    - it does work on site basis, not on page basis

    So PS is no alternative.

i want it over with now, so i have a measuring point to compare my three sites... like site a has 30 links it is a pr4, site b has 10 links it is a pr 2, and site three has no page rank. with this info i can roughly judge by looking at the pages that link to me which are giving me the most strength.

You have absolutely no clue whatsoever what you are talking about. None of what you said is even close to how it works, boron was correct in what he posted about the PR being able to go to whatever in a single update. There are no human editors in PR over 5, why would you spout stuff like that?
