How to promote a blog?

Could someone summurazie the ways that one can promote his/her blog specially in term of SEO.

link exchange, and promoting the blog on specialty foruns.

Of course search engines too.

 

for SEO...purchaing link backs or exchanging..them..and writing uniqe cintent will take your page to top of google..also paid reviews....

 

Comment Posting on other blog may also help.

 

Do Link exchanges with related sites.
Post comments on related blogs.
Whip up interesting posts- posts on which people feel inclined to comment and give their view.
Have a good URL structure, make your blog easy to navigate .
Buying links with your desired anchor text will obviously help

 

along with the usual site seo you should also join blogging communities like technorati and mybloglog

 

Definitely. Don't forget to get out there and participate in other people's blog communities.

People are much more likely to link back to your site if you've become involved in their discussions. Of course you need original content too, but don't forget to comment.

 

Aaaaaaaaaaand, last, but not least - start a contest on your blog, or invite a guest blogger to make a few posts!

 

Stumbleupon is my favorite for large amounts of traffic. For seo though just posting on a large variety of popular and small blogs plus having others comment on yours will increase seo greatly.

 

Join free service like mybloglog & don't lazy to leave some comment when you visit other blog..

 

link exchange just make sure its a 3way, or a simple method is getting a load of posts on forums and putting you're link in the signature.

 

Submit to blog directories like (blogcatalog.com) etc...

 

Blogrolls and rss feed submissions, i promoted my video blog via rss feeds at first, they helped me so much.

 

Also dont forget to set up your PINGS.

 

If you are active on a lot of message boards, links in your signature are a great way to advertise !

 

Get back links to everything you do, your main page, post pages everything.

For your main page one thing to do is search on google "your keywords" and many variations of "submit link" "submit site" add your link" "submit your site", should bring up lots of related places to drop your link.

For your posts, social bookmark em, netscapes good for some high PR back links for your posts.

I've seen a guy become a comment whore and he's got a solid subscription base.

 

You mean commenting another blogs right? (so you blog url will stay there).
