    i prefer the second one, but tbh either of them dont really fit into the website.

    The first one doesn't really look that distinctive.

    The second one is a much better concept - however I think the strong 3D effect might not be working with the ultra-flat test. It looks a little tacked on at the moment (i.e. pasted over)

    I wonder how it would look either with text that has form (i.e. bevel or drop-shadow) or using an image that matches the flatness of the text.

    Hope that makes sense?

    Thank you all for you replies. I have made the text more 3d and the image less 3D so they might have a better match. It's now live on the site for a clear look. Please tell me what you think now.

    looks a bit better, tho i dont think font is correct. its very hard to find the correct font so try putting some time into finding a good font. it will pay off.

    I like the second one, but I don't like the blank gray area at the top. If it were me, I'd shorten the book stack to within the blue area. Another alternative would be to heighten the blue area all the way to the top.</twocents>

    Too many books in the second one. I would suggest you to go with maximum 3 books.

    second one is a lot better but you will need to get rid of that ridiculous grey bit at the top of the page.

    I would also work on the poor choice of font.
