Hit it! My Directory is copied cut to cut!

I was checking visits to my upcoming Bams Web Directory and was :SHOCKED: to find:

www.sendgifts.org

Cut to Cut COPY! Even link back, design, database everything

I called up the mobile number mentioned in the whois but its a fake non exiting number.

Can someone help me out in this issue? Does any directory member know to whom does this site belong? It says some Mr. Chawla from West Bengal, India.

the person runs a software on http://www.blogaboutmysite.com/directory/.

What software did is extract all pages source code and made a html file with it.

There is no DB copied it is just html version which software made.

 

since you say west bengal, so i suggest you to contact iceberg! he lives there, may be he can do some findings! though it is next to impossible to find the owner!!

anyways, this is absolutely dis-heartening! people should learn to create something new!

William is right there. Check our Log and see if there is any suspicious IP activity. (Too much hits/download) If that idiot is right about his location than The IP will certainly be an Indian IP.

Check your log between 16th July and 25th July.

however, don't think it shld affect u too much as it is not marketed at all with no PR or backlinks..... wldn't worry too much abt it. Take it as a compliment

 

Contact his host and explain your situation. They'll most likely close his hosting account..

 

this is a clear copyright infringement and there is something you can do that will probably make him lose the whole Domain name or at least will force him to shut down this directory.

his registar is www.publicdomainregistry.com, you can email them a complaint about copyright infringement , look at their terms:

send them a professional e-mail, straight to the point use "we" like if you are a company to make it look like a serious problem, and am sure they will do something about it.

I have faced same issue. Got a clone of Allthelink.com > Allthelink.info
I did contact their host, they did not help me!

Sunny, why you posted a live link of that site?

 

I'm sure he used any software to copy all pages. He is not using any database.

index.php file not exist
directory's admin page not exist.
check his latest link and top hits pages url.

 

@funkymario i think he should send email to webhost not the registrar of domain, they will not care.

 

the site owner is breaking the registrar terms of services, I think they will care, (but am not sure if they will take action), but sure he can send an email to both the hosting company and registrar.

 

Thanks a lot for your response guys, I tried asking some of my IT Expert friends even they have first asked me to consult the hosting & registrar.

Try to submit a paid link and then chargeback him + contact him via that paypal mail

 

This sucks. File a DMCA complaint with Google so they don't get indexed.

 

Sunny hope you get the situation handled!!! I am not sure what is to be done but personally i would contact the owner himself either via email (though u said u cudn't contact ) or as the others said contact his web host...

Maybe the host's take his site down!

 

I tried to submit a bogus submit to see if I could get a paypal address or email address of any sort got a not allowed looked at code read this
