Cheapest/Easiest Way To Set Up A Domain Name With WordPress?

    Hi there,

    Yesterday I opened a free blog account at WordPress, and uploaded around 4 posts.

    I'm thinking of linking my account to a domain name, and I also want to be able to install some extra features - top commentator section etc.
    Would I also need hosting to do this? And would I have to pay WordPress to be able to edit their templates?

    Would appreciate any help, would like the cheapest methods possible please :eek: and as you can tell I'm a newbie with all of this....

    Well, your best bet, IMO.. is to get your own hosting account, and install your own copy of wordpress on that account.

    Hi,

    Buy a domain. Buy webhosting. Install wordpress and voila.

    You can edit or create your own wordpress template freely.

    Let me know if you need some help about this.

    Can anyone recommend a web hosting package? My usual package would need to be upgraded, this is around £15 a month (way too pricey for the blog I want to make, as it might not be a success).

    To be honest I think £10 a month is probably too much for me still - the blog I would need hosting might not even get any traffic and might fail, so I don't really want to gamble much money on it.

    How much do your hosting packages cost?
