$400 Logo Contest

    I am after a new logo for the blog Coolest Gadgets. As well as the normal logo I will be requiring an additional 11 seasonal variations (e.g. a special one for Christmas, Halloween etc.), so the $400 prize is for all 12 logos. In order to enter the contest please submit the regular logo and one seasonal variation. After the contest I will give the winning designer a list of the different logo variations required.

    A few rules and guidelines for the logo are:
    • The logo needs to show the site name, CoolestGadgets.com and also the catch phrase The ongoing search for the coolest gadget...
    • The logo must fit with the the theme of the site, a new theme is currently being designed but it will follow a similar look to the current site and forums.
    • The primary colors should be red and blue as used on the site at the moment
    • The logo will be going on a striped shaded backgrounnd image e.g.

      (Ignore the writing as that will be removed)
    • Humor in the seasonal variation(s) would be good
    • Maximum plain logo image size is 400x80. With the variations you can go up to 500x80 (so you can make things stick out of the top or bottom)

    I'll leave the contest open for a week but will close early if I see a design that I like. As an added bonus I will also blog about the winning designer and link to their site, Coolest Gadgets is read by ~60K people every day so this could be worth more than the actual prize.

    honestly, I'm still not 100% sure that I did it right. The size seems a little odd for either a header or a logo.

    The size is just to fit in with the site and the image will be used in the left hand side of the header of every page.
    Yeah, I'll be using the seasonal ones throughout the year

    Thanks for all entries so far, they all look good but none have really hit me as THE one as yet.
