Logo and Header design for 5 Star Affiliate Programs Total up to $150 in Prizes + PR Need new Web 2.0 type of look or just more modern, clean and hi tech. NOTE: I think some designers can really have fun with this one! Please stay with a Teal color scheme (so I don’t need to change my CSS). But I think maybe Teal and Orange instead of Teal and gold. SITE and REQUIREMENTS This is a contest for a logo and header for a popular affiliate marketing destination site. There is a separate site, blog and forum. The same header needs to work and fit on all. Main site: http://www.5staraffiliateprograms.com (will be redesigned to be the same width as forum) Forum: http://affiliate-marketing-forums.5staraffiliateprograms.com/ (Header needs to be full width of this page) Logo must work with header but also be provided as a stand-alone logo. The winner, after being selected, will need to provide in 3 (hi res) smaller sizes of logo that can be used for icons, buttons and avatars. DESIGN IDEAS THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX! Here is one of my entries. I hope you like it, I worked on it for awhile. I really tried to abandon the over-amounts of web 2.0 ness. I really lost my thing for gloss or reflections. They just don't seem professional enough. I tried to keep with the color scheme. I even stole the exact color from the existing website and built off of it. If not, I put white because your site also contains white. I also tried to incorporate the 5 stars into your logo by having a 5 STAR emblem and having an amount of 5 stars in the logo itself. The banner is using the resizable logo and fitting it with more stars but done more subtly. I put a little sort of hidden 5 on the right side which can be seen because it is lighter in color. This also ads a little web 2.0 effect since it in a sense can simulate a gloss.
onixz100 nice graphics. I agree with you about the Web 2.0 reflections. I remember 7 years ago really funky free online text generators that used heavy reflections. So to me the reflective 2.0 look is kind of old fashioned, as opposed to futuristic, but sometimes it still looks good if not over done. I like the Way the 5 Star text looks with the S overlapping the 5. The shape of the stars is not quite what I'm looking for especially the big star with the 5 inside. Don't know how to explain my feeling about my star, but the star just has to be right and I can't explain exactly what type of star I want. It's like finding the perfect piece of art for your home. You can't explain exactly what you want, but you when you see the right piece, you just know it's the one. I really do think I want to go more toward Orange and teal like I said instead of gold. But overall really nice job. I really appreciate the time you put into it. vinogradov, DaveyBoy and Ariestoteles I'm excited to see what you have up your sleeves!
I guess I will try and change the stars later on today. There are several different versions. There are normal stars, then the ones that are hollow like the ones I used - and then ones that are filled in. Normal stars are like the ones that show up on like "the vietnamese flag". So I will try and use those.
Sorry, but due to lack of response, I'm exercising my right to close this contest early so I can start one at SitePoint which requires an exclusive contest. A friend of mine is doing a contest there and the response plus the caliber of talent that is competing is pretty amazing. I will leave this one open until Saturday at 12 Noon PDT to allow anyone that may have started working on a logo to submit it. There is still a chance if someone submits something I love before then, that I would just go ahead and award a winner here. I will probably post the new contest over there on Monday. That's pretty cool the way everything fits together. I kind of like it. Definately closer on the colors and it's important the 5 and Star can stand alone and still get the brand across like the bottom left one does. Thanks coolwanz - Great job!
