Just read the post on SMACKDOWN and it seems historically his actions has been that of deceit and cheating on people.

Now I am more than convinced -he and his SEOMOZ is nothing but gimmicks who don't even know how to use Google!

I can care less for such type of people anymore.

If i was him i wouldn't worry about everyone and worry
about myself as "Alexa" will probably be contacting them
regarding the Cache dates and breach of terms associated with it. :(

    thx

I wonder why this chaps organisation is held up to be expert in SEO or SEM, the little i was able to glean from what has entered the public domain from the original article was not outstanding and infact showed very limited understanding of the subject matter.

If we were not so keen on an alternative metric for measuring directories , i.e PS , we would pay a lot less attention to their utterances.

    Yawn.

I'm a parent, I've seen little boys throw tantrums to get attention before.

Best to ignore the tantrum, they get bored and stop.

Being a QBC that he is --how dare he would come here and face the TRUTH!
As all of you read on SMACKDOWN -his 3 years of SEO journey has been that of deceit and lies. He is just a GIMMICK.

I even suspect -he charges directory owners who want to be in his list. Somebody listening here? Am I saying the truth?

Rand Fishkin is a coward --

If he had genuine points to make --he would have come here (like he often visited SEOMOZ relayed thread before) and faced us. But --all his talk is a LIE--so he is hiding behind his Monitor --rather than advising us how to improve qualities of our directories. But does he know about anything associated with quality?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

I'm more busy than coward, but I really like the advice of just ignoring me. If you don't like what I've got to say or don't find my tips valuable, don't read SEOmoz, right?

My opinion that most of the general directories that are promoted in SEO forums are useless is just that - opinion - it's based on my personal experience. If yours differs, by all means, keep buying directory links! Just because I don't find them valuable doesn't mean anyone else should be upset. I'm giving out advice on my blog the way I see it - not sure why that's such a bad thing.

If you didn't purposely single-out arguably the most popular directory (outside of all the "big boys") as a means to stir up controversy and direct traffic to your site, perhaps people wouldn't have taken so much offense.

    You reap what you sow!

Givin openion is onething and telling the truth is another. Your point of view is respected and you should respect the feedback from others too.

Now tell me: Why do you charge a fee to use SEOMOZ PS tool while it is giving 99% inaccurate data?? Do you think it is fair? Or you still beleive "if you don't want don't use SEOMOZ" approach.

I see no tips except may be trying to get Jeff as a client.
First you need to clearly define what a quality directory is--- factors that are essential for a directory to be QUALITY!

Then you have to take out DMOZ from your list ( from what I understood so far according to your present methodology) --as a quality directory-- because John Scott has proved it is not one using your methodology.

No double-speak please. All should be judged with same wave-length.
Then you have to prove why a .edu/.gov link is better that other links (trusted sites) --because Matt Hass been saying this again and again that - .edu/.gov links are nothing but SEO myth.

Once we are convinced with your methodology -and -validity of it
I'll be the first one to follow your advice and work hard to make my directory a quality one.

Mere saying --that is good and that is bad without valid proofs does not show some-one in your stature in good light.
Prove your methodology --define a quality directory- you will get one of them in 6 months. ( I am confident I can make one of my directories quality in 6 months time).

If you are just talking without proofs --sooner than later --there will be more forum discussions/blog posts -- and One should respect Public Opinion rather than being stubborn.

    Tnx.
