How's Google Adsense done for you

I've heard a lot of success stories about Google Adsense, but I'd like to hear people's own views of how it has/hasn't worked out for you.

Also, If you've had sucess, please say what you've done that made you successfull.

I learned about Adsense from a couple of people on another forum, who all had very good experiences and said you should give up any other program and use it.

I ended up moving to adsense, because with the program I was using "targetpoint" you could not right click the ads and open a new windows and the ads were irrelevant.

I must say I didn't think I was doing that good for my impressions and clicks.
I had a site which got 1,000 daily page views and 10 daily clicks. Yet the total daily earning were only around $1.

In the end, I ditched the site (too much work, not much profit) and moved on from a fan-site too a webmaster site. I've made almost nothing ($7 over 2 months), but then again I haven't worked too hard and my traffic is between 0-20 daily viewers. I won't judge adsense just yet until I get more visitors.

I do between $80-$100/mo on one of my sites,~400 page impressions / day with crappy pay-per-click. But it pays for my dedicated server to run my other projects. ;-) Now if I could get 100 of these sites that would be great, however, I have alot of work in this site.

For me, it pays off for the hosting and domain renewals for around 400 of our domains.

It's all about quality content my friend. I have a lot of hours in content for that particular site. Then a big news site found me and linked to me, as well as some popular niche sites linking to me. From there, my search engine rankings came up, and I now have regular visitors.

I'm pushing around ~$200/mo right now and I have about 200k impressions. I'm looking at alternatives just to be sure I can get the highest eCPM for my site, but they are working out ok for me right.

AdSense has been great. In fact, I didn't think it was possible to make money blogging until one day it all came together (about a year or two after I signed up for AdSense).

fsmedia: 200$ for 200k impressions sounds quite low, is your site a forum or something with a low CTR?

based on the stats for my sites I would put 200k impressions at about $500

It is some algorithm between unique visitors, content and the group of visitors.

In the beginning it looked like I was cursed. My adsense would get to $99.00 $99.43 even, $91...and then stall right on the last day of the month. I could swear G had programmed something so I wouldn't go past $100 for the month. It was driving me nuts. This went on for 3-5 months, every single month. Now it's all different but I sure got paranoid about it. I was wondering if my account was under watch or something and they had purposedly been doing this to me. Of course, I am not aware of any such "watch" thing, but boy, gettting so close to my $100 was torture. I make a lot more now but not enough.

    I am more than satisfied.

It pays my hosting and i also have been able to purchase some content from adsense revenue, which in turn will generate more traffic / income during the next months, so that i can buy more content....

    Adsense is doing good.
Pays much more then needed for hosting :) My opinion is - just stop calculating hosting needs. There is NO problem for adsense to pay your hosting bills. Start thinking about earning money, but not paying bills.

Adsense can bring real money if you start thinking with your head, experiment, and NEVER buy "easy money" books :) Just surf, read, think and experiment.

I will not tell about my earnings here due to TOS, but basing on my 2 month experience with Adsense, I can surely say - it IS performing. Performing so well that me and my team are finishing all our current projects and we are going completely into online marketing and adsense :)
