There are so much Gurus out there who want to sell their stuff to you..... Almost all Gurus are the same.... Anyone met any kind gurus who is willing to groom you in Internet Marketing and mentor you well?
I'm the only real guru, now go submit all your sites to my directory below and you'll get top 10 ranks in google for every keyword! * *only applies to keyphrases longer than 5 words, with no more than 10 sites competing in google and overture of up to 10 per month.
Why hate them? So what if they want to sell their stuff to you... it's you who decides to give bucks away? Let gurus spend their time doing guru-stuff. Or... perhaps one day you'd like to become a guru selling stuff to others? If that is the case... then learn from the gurus you hate - and use them as a negative role model (so that you do just the opposite)
I will tell you what most notable guru tries to teach you...... Get off the computer and meet people. Treat this as a business and you will be in business.
Indeed. E-books are not written by gurus. Marketing E-books are written by people that are trying to steal money from dumb people. Gurus write printed books, gurus organize seminars. And yes, you have to meet them in person.
You don't really need to go out and meet people to make money on the internet. It definitely helps, without a doubt, but you can make money in your own little cocoon. That's why internet marketing is so beautiful.
I wouldn't say all. MAny are VERY down to earth and kind and more than willing to share. Now they aren't going to say try X promote it via Y and you will rake it in but they may drop hints or say check out this offer i am rocking it etc.. or can give you advice on things you are working on. But most that are trying to sell Ebooks are in that manner (not all) but many are just wanting to make a quick buck and give you info you can find for free on the net but in one package.
I would have to disagree with these negativities towards "gurus". Why can't a talented individual create and market an eBook? Why is it frowned upon? Perhaps we do not wish to attend this overpriced sales events you call "SEO Seminars". Just because you may be close minded about something doesn't mean you have to talk down on someone who may not like the current social requirement of attending or speaking at one of these conferences. Think about what you're saying before you say it. If anybody would like non-paid help, you're going to be wasting your time. You have to spend money to make money. Why are we any different than the surgeons you trust with your plastic surgery or LASIK? We're humans and have to make a living. We are utilizing what we know and have spent a good portion of our lives doing. Everybody have a great day and before you judge somebody understand that not everyone can afford $3000 trips 3 times a year just to get face at a conference. I've been in the industry since 98 and can tell you that there are many people that "get it" and can be getting paid $12 an hour that very well deserve $50k a year or more.
There are a lot of great people who write some good, quality e-books that want to sell you stuff. It's how they make a living and I don't see anything wrong with it. People like Ken Evoy, Jeremy Palmer and Perry Marshall are all really good. If they have something to sell that is quality, why wouldn't I want it if I thought it would help my business? Just be cautious in what you believe, what you purchase and who you listen to. Online works the same as offline: let the buyer beware.
The good ones get a bad name from the bad ones. And unfortunately, it seems to me there are many more bad ones than good ones. I think the key to distinguishing between the two is that those that are good would be willing to have true reviews and give their product to a few to get those reviews before charging others. I made the mistake of purchasing an ebook before without reading the reviews first, luckily it was only a $7.00 mistake. I will NEVER buy an ebook without having unbias reviews anymore. Besides that, there is so much good information here in the DP forums there aren't a lot of things written in ebooks that you couldn't get for free here.
It's the self-proclaimed gurus you need to worry about. If their work can't show that they are good at what they do then they do not deserve this kind of titles.
What really makes someone a "guru"? Anyone can call themselves a Guru and take peoples money, but how do you differentiate a "guru" from a imposter? Something to think about!
Well, i'm pretty close... minus two arms... taller, darker hair, 100 years younger, typically a few more clothes on, and more handsome.
Yep, way too many of these guys. The term "guru" is so overused that I only use it when talking about these self-proclaimed gurus. For real smart people, I use "expert." They are great people
Have not met one.....almost the ones that I have come across have a very good come-on...but at the end of the day, they want you to buy something before they can impart their great knowledge.
