Well, yesterday I received an email from a banned member andrej and he asked me to forward this to you guys:

    ---

    Hello Katy,

I am "andrej" from DP forums. I'm sure you know me.

You may wonder where do I have your e-mail from. I've checked the Whois info of your Rock-kitty.net domain and there I've got it.

Now, why am I writing you an e-mail? I was banned on DP forums! :( And believe me, it really wasn't my fault. I am 100% innocent in this. Yes, I have had 5 infractions (for thread bumping and posts in inappropriate categories, as I haven't read the rules when I was a newbie on the forum). But since then I was really cautious and haven't received even a single infraction in almost 2 months. By the beginning of September, all my 5 infractions would been gone.

And now, how it happened. It happened just about 30 minutes ago! I was browsing the forums, when suddenly the following appeared:

You have been banned due to infractions.

Date the ban will be lifted: Nov 11th 2007, 7:21 pm

I was really shocked to see this. I then checked my mailbox and I got this e-mail from DP:

    Dear andrej,

You have received an infraction at Digital Point Forums.

    Reason: Duplicate Account
    -------

    -------

This infraction is worth 10 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

    All the best,
    Digital Point Forums

Katy, I would like to ask you for your help on how is the best way to contact the mods and make them believe me. And yes, I am really innocent in this, they must believe me. I really don't know how this is possible. I would never create a duplicate account. I'm from Slovakia and I usually connect on the Internet there. However, right now I'm in the UK, in Coventry (I have been here for 2 months now.). I connect on the Internet via a Wifi modem in my uncle's house. So perhaps someone has hacked me or I'm not sure if the IP is not shared or what.

I wanted to contact the mods via the "Contact Us" link in the footer, but I'd like to ask you first how to approach them. Perhaps you could just send a PM to Smyrl, but I understand if you're afraid of getting banned or receiving an infraction.

Katy, please believe me. This could happen to anyone else if it has happened to me. It must be an error or someone is hacking me. Perhaps someone just wants to rip me off DP forums and therefore has created an account with my details or my e-mail.

I'm really desperate, as DP is a perfect forum and you know, I'm also making a little living off it, like you do as well. I have selected you among DP members, as I know you are a reputable and honest member and I hope you might be able to help me.

P.S. In case you do not believe me, you can forward this e-mail to a mod to check this matter one more time. My current IP is 90.195.154.214 (UK, Coventry) and host is " 5ac39ad6.bb.sky.com".

    Andrej

    Yeah, that's it.

DP is a big forum and I know Mods are busy and have a loads of work to keep this forum clean.
But I think Mods should look into this case.
Andrej seems to be a good member.

I'm sure they wouldn't have banned him without some evidence that he'd done wrong. I have to say though, having looked through his past posts and cross-matched his domain names with other users (my usual test), I can't see anything myself. Unusual.
