I think so, yeah. The .tk ads instantly make a bad impression on the visitor, so it's unlikely that your site will go anywhere. I'd suggesting investing the $0.89 or whatever it is in a .info domain name.
They are good for 10 year olds who make a site with freewebs and then make it shorter with .tk That adbar above the site makes it like one of the many sites in one big network, which it is, so your site won't look professional ever.
They're fine if you're 14 and need a TLD for your 1337 clanz. But as an adult, it's .com or nothing. It's $9 a year at the most for a .com, splurge a little...
I don't think a Webmaster should ever turn to a .tk domain, especially not if it is for business use. Domains are rather cheap these days, so why turn to .TK's when you're able to get .com's for cheap prices. Meti
Well .tk brought me here, where I am now... My first ever site - http://www.egreetings.tk/ I keep this site running as it is my inspiration. It reminds me, this is what I started from.. When I made that site, I was a student, $16 (That time) for a domain name was too much for me, besides I didn't have a CC to buy one.. So It all depends on your determination.. If you are determined to grow, to progress, even.tk can be a very good start. But going with a commercial TLD such as .com, .net is always better...
you can get a .info for less than a candy bar, and a .com for less than 3 beers, so eat or drink a bit less for one day and you've got yourself that domain. You don't need to have a CC anymore, only a paypal account, add some money from your bank and you're done
i had also initiated with a free .tk domain so they are not totally worthless but for some people, its like doing early school classes to do masters
I'm just wondering how much that egreeting site makes you per month? It looks pretty well done for your first site.
My opinion of .tk domain extensions is HORRIBLE unless you purchase domain instead using the free one.
they take to long to fill in the form to get one, you can pay $0.99 for a .info domain with paypal, faster than setting up a .tk account/site
For people who don't have any money it can be ideal for although they aren't professional and I wouldn't use a company is they had a .tk domain.
Are you using .tk for a personal site such as your hobbies etc? If that's the purpose, sure do it. But if you're setting up a domain for business, a .tk will make you look cheap and unprofessional. It's about as bad as a site with a legitimate domain and then finding out later that their contact email is on a yahoo or hotmail account! Just my 2¢.
