Bugger - was hoping the outage was due to someone at Google pressed the big delete button to get rid of all the spam sites. I was wrong - no change in ranking for my main keyword :(

If it didn't make the news while it was happening, I doubt it will. No one really cares about a news article along the lines of, "A site was down this morning at 3:00 am. But it's back up now..." heh

Looking at the current top story in the search on Google News for "Google", I wonder if all those copyright holders decided that just taking Google to court for its library project was not enough and they had to take more drastic action before it was too late ...

Did www.google.com always redirect to www.google.com/ig if you are logged in to your Google account, or is that new since it came back online?

Could be done... some discussion on it over here.

Hello from insomnia world. I just looked at a new site which I added adsense to yesterday and it's coming up with PSA's and blanks I almost had a heart attack before I saw this thread. Normal ads are showing on the main site, phew disaster averted!!

Lol, Its kind of a big deal for Publishers when the ads on their site cause their pages to hang or not load ;)
