the Referrals 2.0 : After the update , the same Bugs still exists

- Indesired ads still showing instead of inchecking the Box " pick up the best performing ads" .
- some ads still appearing in the wrong categories
- the 5 stars : we still dont know what they mean : ( better converstions , most paying ...ect )
- ads not showing ( white box )

 

I'm still getting old ads showing up when I replaced them with a new one.

 

Me too . i tried to replace with a new code . but the ads appearing are random . and i dont get my desired one

 

Here too. None of my chosen ads show up, only incorrect ads.

What is wrong with this? Same thing is happening to me. Oh well.

 

ALL of the referrals I select still are not showing. That is why, I removed referrals from my site.

most of all, they don't match the content of the site.

I chose dog stuff for my dog site and what did I receive? cats ads....LOL

google is a big mess right now. serps in chaos, services not working, a rediculous update,...

After adsense paying less and less I had great hope for their referrals 2.0. They can't "smart price" me there . So sad to hear that .

OK. guys thanks for starting this thread. I was really annoyed to see this happening after it was fixed, then i decided to investigate it further, now it seems:

1) Google is showing ads based on county. So if yours ads are selected with Country: US. Then only USA people will see those ads. For everyone else, those ads will rotate based on CPM etc.

2) If you notice by default, the country is yours. We always change this to USA for selecting ads. However check any ads available only for your country, it works perfect. This clearly shows that google is now targetting ads based on country.

Will this be permanent now or is it just a bug?

Both me and my girlfriend got problems with adsense referrals 2.0, they dont show up on our sites but are just blank.. pretty annoying.

Doesn't work for me. Ads only show up about 1 out of ten pages, and still nothing close to what I've chosen. My Adsense (referrals) report shows impressions for a bunch of unrelated ads, but all the clicks I've gotten are for the products I signed up for. Strange.

 

Jajed, did u get what i said? Are you in usa? if not then, those USA ads wont show up for you. just select ads from your country, let me know if they still dont showup.

 

Yeah, I got it. I set up a unit with my country (Ecuador) and also tried with my Language (spanish), but it still does the same thing. What you said does make sense, but at least from where I am, it's not working.

 

thats crazy! it has to work. Cleared cache? check it. othewise you got a very interesting issue.

 

Update: I tried using a US IP to check on US referrals, and now I actually see one of my chosen products, but it's not rotating them as expected. I'm using the text links, which don't have the "Pick best performing ads" option, so they are supposed to rotate randomly, but I'm seeing only 1 99% of the time.

I don't know about other countries, but setting it up for Ecuador still shows the same strange behavior.

In any case, referrals are pretty much useless if you can't tell what's going to show. Thanks for the help anyway, and let's hope Google gets their act together.
