I currently have a php 2 forum which I will soon be needing to transfer to someone else (who will obviously be using their own hosting etc).
Is there anyway to do this without loss of posts etc?
I know this may be asking a lot for help on this (it may be a long process), but any help will be greatly appreciated and rep will be given.

You have a forum script using php 2? WOW..that is ancient.

Or do you mean a forum running on phpbb2?

Yes, you will need to backup your mysql database, and copy all the files to the new host, and then import the database to the new host.

Sorry, I certainly did mean phpbb2.
I'm not quite sure how to back up the mysql database though see. I'm using cpanelx if that's any help.
Thanks so much for the reply.

To answer your questions: yes, it is possible to transfer all of the information (in short, the entire forum.) If you'd like me to, I can perform this for you, feel free to shoot me a PM and we'll go from there.

So how did it go? Moving a phpbb2 is easy, as long as you have mysql and ftp access.

I don't need to transfer the forum just yet, but soon I will. I think I will be able to do it myself, but should I need help I'll PM those who asked. :)
    Thanks
