    Very odd.

My new site is ranking on the second page for a keyword that has over 102 million competition! I only started the blog a week ago. What does this mean? do I have google authority ? I seem to be ranking quite high for blogposts I've been posting + their keywords..

Hi Myra, Thats mean you have a quality content related to this keyword, but beware, the number of results is not the "competition" you can have a keyword with only 1 to 2 million results but the competition is so hard that you cant even be on the top 100 if you have a new website. how about the traffic are you getting any good traffic from this keyword ?

    cheeers.

They're pretty decent traffic :) Content is King! I'm ranking pretty high for my unique content that I'm writing (some are long keywords though) !

Do you get any traffic from that keyword ?

Maintaining that rank, if not moving ahead is the main thing you need to worry about. Certain new sites rank well initially, and then get thrown into obscurity

Okay, I've noticed ranking shifting from some of my keywords :p

Yes, I actually do get traffic from that keyword (not a whole lot, but it's still target audience!)

    I agree with that too.

Looks like you may have jumped right over the sandbox too. We don't notice but we gain a lot of experience, and start to do things naturally when starting new projects.

You probably did a lot of the things you have learnt from personal experience and others with this site that you didn't do with others, and vice versa. Sometimes it can be benefical to not go over the top and submit a week old site to two thousands directories.

A new site with unique, pure content is promising in the eyes of Google. The legitimate webmaster will always be the successful one.

Keep up the good work :)
