What are the best way to target any country using SEO ??

How can we target any specific country for seo purpose. One of our client based in UK having .com domain name and his datacenter located in USA.

Now he want to optimise his website for UK customers .

My main concerns are is Domain name and location of datacenter affects ranking in google.co.uk

Similarly domain name for india .in but datacenter in USA can affect ranking in google.co.in

Any Idea...

 

If it is a new site, you can considering getting a .co.uk extension domain and make it the main site while hosting with uk datacenter servers. if domain change not possible, change the hosting at least. hope that helps

 

agree with onedollar and i would like to add some thing which help u even u dont change the domain name or web hosting.

Start SEO working on that site and try to get more back links from relevant .co.uk domains and use uk in title description of the page for exp

I agree with this. If it's a new site which isn't established in the search engines, get a .co.uk

 

This will mean you will be found in the local results when someone checks "pages from the UK"

 

I can understand the domain name cannot be changed but hosting can always be changed it is for your own benefit after all

it is certainly possible to rank a .com in uk serps but you'll have to try a bit harder and do some unique link building stuff (relatively speaking)

 

You can always register a co.uk or other tld and set that domain to redirect to your site..

 

What would that achieve?

 

the different versions, company.co.us, .com and/or .in would inherit the .com pagerank and rankings, and appeal to those searching from google uk and google it

Are you talking about satellite sites? which get the ranking and send traffic to main site.
that is one of the best option but for that you have to work hard to get ranking in totally new site.
