I want to sell some services into forums (seo services,links). What avatar should I choose? Me in a business suite? or to put my girl friend picture?! or me with a dog?! I mean ... should i let the image of a powerful person ... or of a friendly person ?!

 

Your girlfriend isn't you so I'd say the business one.

I dont think an avatar picture will make you your sales to be honest mate.

The thing i look for especially when it comes down to SEO etc when hiring is past work... and its pretty easy to find out if your good or not etc by where you place for keywords in google etc

I mean you cant claim to be the best (not saying you are saying that) unless you are at the top of google if you follow me.

But if you have all that in place i think sales will fly in for you, as for the avatar, like i say i cant see it having any effect but go for you in the suit if you have to.

Alternatively I think it is worth to make your signature more search engine friendly and that can also entice people to click on.

I think that is likely best...but then, only if you have/use a female username and name.

SoftGroups seems to work OK for that However, if you email someone and the return name is John Smith people may feel a bit put off that if they thought you were a chick.

In the end, I think that a company logo or an image of yourself would likely work best if you are going for professionalism. I mean, I'm sure people look strangely at me with my Cheeseburger avatar (which will likely change again tomorrow)
