Do redirects count as links?

    I've got one site that has a few thousand links to my site, but until now I didn't realize they weren't real links... They're like this:
    But then they get directed to my site..

    I'm guessing they don't count, but am not sure... Does anyone know if google counts these as backlinks?

    They will likely not count. At least they haven't in the past but google is getting smarter....

    The answer is No. Google doesn't count redirects as backlinks. ;)

    :) redirect dosen't count as links but it is good to use it when people spell wrong your website.If you have an important business you may consider it

    i dont think that it will be counted as backlinks.

    the other may count them but not google
