    Hi all,

I'm making a new online store and I can't decide whether to go for zen cart or OsCommerce, I know oscommerce is more widely used but I quite like the look of zen cart. What are the opinions of you guys?

I prefer osCommerce (Mainly because I haven't used zencart) but it can be quite complicated if you plan on using any features not built into it ;)

Haven't tried x-cart either so no comment there.

Zencart. It's built on osCommerce, and has a lot more features.

Lol, actually I've found Zencart to be quite inflexible and very difficult to skin. I've switched from ZC to OSC recently and much prefer OSC.

    Best wishes,

Zen Cart is the way, more extensions and easier to manage

ZenCart's backend is OSCommerce... so you are asking a redundant question. I like the ease of use with ZenCart but I like the flexibility of OSCommerce... which makes sense since that is what both programs intended to do... ZenCart easy... OSCommerce comprehensive.

osCommerce is a pain to maintain (security-wise) and extra features usually involve editing core files, which sucks when you have to upgrade. I use osCommerce, and I've come to regret it. Don't know about ZenCart.
