cody....in all honesty you do sound like a market manipulator.....i mean trying to make us believe our valuable websites are worth nil so u can buy them up for two months profit and laugh all the way to the bank....lol....nice try buddy....the dp fam are not fools....if we are making 500 a month i doubt unless someones desperate to sell that it will be hard to sell for at least like 6 months of revenue....check sitepoint as well as other auctions here buddy...we are not fools...just my 2 cents

I'm a real estate investor outside DP. Two weeks ago I just bought a house in a neighborhood where people told me:"Cody, this is a nice neighborhood. We are not fools and we know our properties worth at least $180K". But these owners needed a way out to avoid foreclosure. So I bought it $140K.
Is that home worth $140K? No! It worth $180K like the others.
Regarding sites, there are few buyers for more money. I do websites since 1995. Do my sites worth nothing? I don't know. I think there worth what a buyer is willing to pay.
You do a site and put it for sale at 24 months of revenue in here and tell me if you sold it...

 

Business 2.0 Magazine ran an article about a user who bought sites here fixed them up a bit and resold them on sitepoint for a couple thousand more then he bought it for.

 

Good deals aren't that hard to find but you have to be very careful, most are duds IMO but it also comes down to how much work you are willing to put in. Go with the old adage, if it sounds to good to be true, probably is.

 

I will buy almost any site for less than 2 months revenue. Contact me I might be able to give you more!!

 

Cody, so I understand you haven't really bought any sites for 2-3 months of profits and that was all just an attempt to make people think the prices are lower?

I bought it because I think I can increase the traffic tremendously and get conservatively a $5/day. That day I'll sell it for $300-$350 (10 times my money, not bad...)

When I put an ad (anywhere), I use to have a PM with what people want to sell. And we go grom there, so it's not on a particular thread...

 

The one before:

heh, yeah I've bought some relatively new sites for $50-150 this way that made that in a few months as well, if you look for cheap sites there are lots of bargains.
If you count in you time involved in it, it's not that profitable.

But you can't find that easily a real, established site, with content, that makes a serious amount for a couple month's worth

 

DOn't get me wrong, I don't say it's easy. But there are some out there.
And regarding the time involved...umm...yes, I agree. But I like it so it's ok...Can I get a better return on my time? possibly. If I get a site bringing $200/month, I'm happy with it, spend some time...But once I get another one bringing $400/month, the $200/month is not so attractive anymore and get less of my time...I'm lazy I guess...
