Nobody knows exactly but Google!! Damn, none of us can even figure out when a PR update is taking place, let alone what gives the best PR?

funky and thud: PR is absolutely not a mechanical, purely scientific indicator. You believe that if you have a PR8 backlink, you automatically get PR5 or even, maybe, PR6? Hardly. My site has 5 PR8 backlinks, a high number of PR7 backlinks, and a lot of PR6 backlinks, and I never got more than PR4. If you were right, my site should be a strong PR6 or most probably even PR7, since the last PR update in april -- a good part of all the important backlinks already happened before april. And my site is an established site, and all the backlinks are content-related backlinks.

Frankly I'm tired of hearing the same old speeches over and over and over again, your postulate just don't live up to the facts, you can't create absolute truths like that or state that PR is a transparent, crystal-clear scientific mechanism, unless you know everything about every single site on the internet and that you control Google.

 

It is an ongoing process, it only changes in your toolbar every 3 months or so though.

 

Well backlinks are the keys for PR and SERP.

*Assuming* your backlinks are counted by Google, you can expect to get PR6 easily if you have a PR8 backlink.

And how do you get those high pr links? Buying them? Thats against google rules. The only other way is good content. His article is about getting a pagerank quickly and ethically.

Internal pagerank is updated on a daily baisis and it is not the same as tool bar page rank. TBPR is just there to amuse you.

A good way to start your link building campaign is with press releases, blog comments, article submissions, and directory links.

 

And The general PageRank Is Updated Every 3 Month

I am sorry you are wrong, I dont know how you can tell me I dont understand pagerank and that its not mathematical science and fact.

Here is the pagerank calculation without taking into account the iterations:

PR(A) = (1-d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + ... + PR(Tn)/C(Tn)) .

Of course you understand PR, you perfectly know the theory. The difference between you and me is that I'm talking about something that happened in the reality, practically, and all your theory, that you learned extensively, is unfortunately -- because I'd love the theory to be 100% accurate and true in 100% of cases -- not the answer to everything.

but, age of the domain helps when it comes to SERP.
