After being ripped off by a 'regular' poster in Services I felt that it best to warn other unsuspecting members here at the forum.

My post was not defamatory or slanderous. It simply named and shamed the idiot who is quite happy to take your money and then not provide you with the 'service'.

I contacted Admin here and requested that they do something about this guy as I was not the only victim of his dishonesty. They did nothing and he still, even today, continues to ply his 'trade' on unsuspecting forum members.

Here is the thread to my posting and you will see that others also said they were ripped off by this guy.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2438258#post2438258

I asked for a retraction by Admin as I felt this was extremely unfair!

    Still nothing...

So, is ot ok then to become a member of this forum and just rip people off without fear of having your account suspended/banned?

What exactly did you want them to retract?

I feel for you Arcos - hopefully the red reputation that member has will be enough to make other potential buyers carefully consider their transaction.

    Good spot Sammie.
If this guy can rip off Summer he can rip off anyone. I'm sure, since this thread is now in circulation, remedial action will be taken very promptly.

i have my uses at times, and this is soo wrong, if the mods cant do anything or get involved with a dispute then thats fine, most likely because of a lack of evidence or it maybe evidence thats made up, but if a mod gets ripped off, then i am sure they should ban them, and to rip off VS in my eyes is banable

Perhaps this only proves that DP mods really don't settle dispute between members.

Not even a mod can use its authority to do that for themselves.

I think Rob used to say that he will do some kind of project related to this. not sure it's already done or not. but it's good to have a DP sister site to report and announce about the scammers here. ^^

A sticky thread for scammers does'nt look of much use to me. Scammers eventually get banned if they are reported, and the sticky thread will become too long quickly and it will be difficult to follow it.

Shawn doesn't have time to approve member projects. It is unofficial like all other anti-scam sites.

here is another suggestion but that can be implemented by mods only.. there should be a link in the user profile.. "Report as Scammer" once the mods get atleast 3 such reports.. the person gets life time ban !

Obviously sufficient proof should be given in reports !

I think that would actually be a good idea, along with a sticky 'hall of shame' thread identifying these scammers.
