Hi, I just started a new logo design company (woohoo!) and was wondering if you guys had any ideas as to where I can get some clients from. I have tried craigslist but there isn't much on there. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
I think banner/text link exchange with other designing sites may be the best way to adv your products
I've actually purchased logos on eBay before. There are logo sellers in the following sub-category: Business & Industrial > Other Industries > Websites & Businesses for Sale > Internet Businesses, Websites > Other Internet Businesses Of course you can always bid on logo projects at sites like elance.com, rentacoder.com, scriptlance.com, etc. Good luck!
Have you tried the Buy, Sell, or Trade forums here on DP? PM me your rates and a URL to your portfolio.
I will send that PM I am pretty expensive - I don't really want to market towards the general "i need a $25-$50 logo". I have/want to do big time projects with larger companies/people who want a great quality logo. You can check out my portfolio/site (getting a new design soon!) at m3 logos [dot] com. Tell me what you think and what would be a good marketing technique. My logos are generally ~$300 flat-rate. Thanks writegirl, I'll check that out.
I guess that is what the general public thinks - Designers within my category are actually charging upwards of $1000 believe it or not. And lets not mention the BIG time guys charging 10,000-20,000+ With us you get very personalized logos according to your demographic, your general "style", etc. When I design you get MULTIPLE (a lot, trust me) of custom concepts to choose from. And if you don't like something you get unlimited (virtually, heh) of revises. Unlike the $25.00 range, my logos are not designed in raster; they are designed with care and quality in vector format so they can be resized and easily edited for your application. I'm probably not going to sell anyone here, just some info for you!
Yes, this forum are not best, even worse for such rates. I know also designers who charges at least few hundreds per logo. Try adwords, general seo methods, buying ads on right sites. Look what big boys do and try do the same. I highly doubt they advertise on DP)) $25-$50 for logo expensive ? lmao.
Thanks SEO, nice to see someone who understands (Of course, I would never think about advertising on DP ) I will definitely give adwords a shot. "$25-$50 for logo expensive ? lmao." LMAO too! I see these people on craigslist a lot and it almost makes me made- Us designers spend our lives learning the ins-and-outs of design and we aren't going to sell that for $21.00 and a used coffee table. But hey, you get what you pay for.
Well I'm use to everyone on DP charging $0-$10 and the logos are usually very good, I can help you setup and manage an adwords campaign if you like
Cause mainly DP consists of people who can or just really have no worries for future to live for $300 to $800 a month probably. Main audience is 15-20 years old who do everything just for fun. I saw a lot of threads in "I was making $3 a day from adsense and happy, now it's $5 and I am really lucky man" style. What you expect then ?
Yeah, I totally agree- I knew I wouldn't get any clients off of DP, that's out of the question I just wanted some new ideas. I'm thinking of putting an ad in a wealthy city's newspaper around here. See how that goes.
Don't say you're expensive, because I pay MUCH MUCH more than $300. Anyways, to get some clients, I'd recommend: website (duh), SEO, PPC, design blog or podcast, submit to CSS galleries, word of mouth, advertising on DP and Sitepoint, affiliate program, and just about any other advertising technique.
