I might sound dreaming , but I am serious

I've always entertained this wild thought that my web site , a business and social network - will one day... be among the big boys such as myspace and Facebook - if I manage to make it happen.

It's one of the most useful web sites as a concept.

    Am I actually dreaming?

    Cheers

I think you need a more brandable name to be successful, now it just looks like another wikipedia wannabe spinoff ...

    but i like the design.

I don't want to sound ungrateful, but Skillipedia has nothing to wikipedia and it's 100 times more useful than a simple wiki or any other social network . There is one part that looks like Wikipedia , but it's only for key skills and it's not edited the same as wikipedia

Considering the current layout and name, i'd say dreaming. But who knows, you may pull it off and good luck to you! Just believe, put in hard work and hopefully it'll work out.

Btw, what's the HTML code for that text effect that is 'animated'? Where the text horizontally appears.

    Thanks,

Everything starts its existance as a dream. You must first have the vision (the dream), belief and determination in order to actualize any worthwhile endeavour. You're off to a good start. I am certain there are some things to improve. But its your dream and you know better than anyone as to what needs to be changed. I personally liked your layout (very clean) though at a glance felt a dichotomy in the domain name vs content matter. I think I was expecting a encyclopedia db of specific skills :). Ignore ay harsh critisism. Anything delivered with harshness or atitude obviously reflects issues in the person giving criticism not your work. Clean graphically sparse layouts are used by most of the top ten sites out there. Look at Craigslist, need I say more?

I was trying not make it look like a classified or directory. Do you reckon, livingearth , the frontpage does not include the initial context for the whole web site content ?
