Many people have told me to write articles to promote my website better, and now finally I think i'll write one just to see what i get out of it.

I have a consumer electronics store so what type of articles should i exactly right or does it even matter, and where should i submit these articles to?

Also i heard press releases are good how do i go about doing that? But first i want to test out this article writing.

Hi article writing really helps in site promotion. IMO Article related to your site is a good one because you can easily promote your site.
    Good luck....

    Are you kidding?

Do you really sell your products?

If so, then what are the most frequently asked questions? Answer them in a nice educational article!

    How about:
-Camcorders & Camera Accessories You Can't Live Without
-Top 10 Of The Most Useful Computer Accessories
-How To Build A Home Theatre With Low Budget Electronics
-Don't Go Hiking Without These Outdoor Products
    etc. etc.

    Regards,
    Case

    P.S.
Don't forget to use a spell checker!

    Start with these ones:

    http://www.articlecity.com
    http://www.articlecentral.com
    http://www.articledashboard.com
    http://www.article-directory.net
    http://www.article-emporium.com
    http://www.certificate.net
    http://www.ebooksnbytes.com
    http://www.ezinearticles.com
    http://www.goarticles.com
    http://www.ideamarketers.com
    http://www.internethomebusinessarticles.com
    http://www.site-reference.com
    http://www.stickysauce.com

After that, just Google 'article submission directories' for more.
There are so many of them that you'll probably need software to submit to them all. If you're interested, there of course is Article Announcer from Jason Potash, but there's an alternative for half the price at http://www.e-commerce-services.com/exec/trk132F1L.html

    Hope this helps.

The best source of article ideas is looking around the forums and FAQ (as mentioned earlier) surrounding your subject. You have a lot of knowledge about your niche so exploit it to attract traffic.

Also, pay attention to any questions that seem to recur without a decent answer. This usually means there is a lack of good material on that subject, which is where you come in. Write quality articles that answer the questions people are asking and you will get even more traffic, and it's usually more targetted. More people will put your article on their site if it's relevant to their visitors.

Here's a couple of free ones too:

    http://blogtelecast.com
    http://superpublisher.com

And there is a bunch of them. But let me share a secret: why use 100% of your own efforts? Instead use 1% of the efforts of 100 article writers with content that relates to the theme of your site. A perfect example of this is found at two sites that I visit quite often for ideas and marketing hints without having to subscribe to annoying mailing lists:

    1. http://1stpromotions.com - not to be confused with the other cb site.
    2. http://roiclicks.com

You can browse all the Internet marketing ideas you want until you're blue in the face here. Refreshing the pages brings up even more marketing, search engine, business ideas, etc. It's pretty ingenious. Sure beats signing up for newsletters from every guru out there, for me anyway.

It depends on where you've submitted, if the articles were approved and if you wrote enticing headlines to get readers interested.

As for search engine listings you can check with Google Alerts.
    Sign up at https://www.google.com/accounts/
and create alerts using some specific keywords.

I have recently started posting articles and have several articles out there. The number of links to my site found in Google, MSN and Yahoo has rocketed and I know that a lot of the article sites I posted to haven't been crawled yet. Interetingly some sites I didn't post to picked up the articles from other sites so you get some unexpected extra links too.

I haven't written articles for a long time - many months in fact, but I'm still getting traffic from them.

Also, some of the article sites, like Idea Marketers has a place where you can pay a fee and make your article more noticeable with a star. You might want to invest the $5 or whatever it is just once and see if that makes a difference.

Also, keep writing. The more articles you have submitted, the more chances you have of people picking them up.

And the PP was right, maybe you're headlines aren't that catchy if you haven't seen any hits yet. Spend a little more time coming up with something luring. Check out some of the resources that most article directories offer about writing good articles. I've always found that info to be really helpful.

If you are looking for places to submit, you can find 50+ such places at ContentMarketers.com.

I am working on adding more links along with more tips and information as well.

If you are not having any luck with your articles being picked up:

    1. Make sure your headlines are good.
    2. Make sure you are writing well (grammar, flow, content).
    3. Write more acutely.
