New, free, spiderable directory with thumbnails!

Hi all,
This is not "just another directory". I've build this directory thinking about users, about content and about quality.

First of all, only websites from Portugal (main land or islands) are accepted in the directory. Second, to be accepted you need to have good quality content, a nice design and a simple and intuitive navigation.

Sure, my directory will have few websites, but they all have quality (not like DMOZ that is getting full of crappy websites from geocities and tripod).

The directory is called Directory PT.

In order to improve user experience I added thumbnails of the websites in the directory. Using this a visitor will know where they will "land" when they click on a link.

The design is very simple and the website is lightweight.

If possible, tell me what you think about the whole ideia and the concept.

(I hope there is no problem in adding this topic, since this is a directory forum).

A lot more! It's Portuguese from Portugal (the original one, not the brazilian ). Anyway, I hope you like it yfs1.

caroline i'm glad you liked it. It is a mix of DMOZ, BlueFind and Thumbshots, but in Portuguese and for free...

I hope that, by the end of the year, my directory estabilish in the portuguese scene.

Hello eduardomaio, I think you did an excellent job! It looks really good and I really like the whole thumbnail idea.

If somehow you could make it available in english that would be even better, maybe a link that says "translate this page" or something.

Anyway excellent job!

 

That would be nice if I would accept english websites too, and that would be a no/no, as i'm only 1 and the spam pages would start appearing in a daily basis by 10 or 20. Maybe I should add a section "Portuguese websites in English".

I will look into your suggestion and try to put it on the directory.

 

Do you plan to put out a english version so we can see it in the english language? Please let me know we are building alot of directories and any idea, the better...
