My question is, do people still submit their site to Uncoverthenet?

Also, they've fixed the forums so current users can't log in (to complain maybe?) and no mention on their site via the blog about the changes...

Why would Google make uncoverthenet a PR 0? Is it because it buys and sells PR?

I think this is an important question, if we're all reaching for high PR only to be blocked by Google (for no reason?) then what's the point of trying to get PR?

Also noted is that many of Bluefind's directory pages have not been cached in one year.

So, new directory submissions in the past year to Bluefind have apparently not been seen by googlebot.

Sorry, you must have entered something in wrong. I respond to every email and every post usually the same day.

As for the PR, I'm not worried. My goal is to build a successful site, something like that is not made overnight. So even if Google doesn't like us now, hopefully they will in years to come. :)

Google is an interesting cat. I don't have anything currently against them, they do me fine. I have noticed though that google just as any other company must (to prevent errosion of stock market share) keep any other site from climbing up the ladder. It is the nature of business. Microsoft did not start out evil nor did wal-mart. In the end though, in order to keep investors happy a company must be willing to step over the line.

In the end, its not so much that these companies are evil. It is the nature of man that causes the beast to become what it is.

The above post is hardly coherent, but somewhat makes sense. Make sure to read it.

The best way to build a directory, is to get one-way links without buying - so many directories that have bought PR have gone down the drain IMO a waste of money.

Whilst we all bash DMOZ, it's the only directory to keep it's high PR without getting dumped by Google - but we all know why that is dont' we :D

I'm seeing pr 0 for the home page, but internal pages still have page rank. The index is also still cached as of yesterday.

They DON't Have a PR! I just submitted to them 2 weeks ago. Talk about being pissed! Make this a note in your advertising books. NO MORE BIG FEES TO OVEREXPOSED DIRECTORIES! I for one will not submit any of my sites who are prime targets for google to rip apart. Money WASTED is NOT smart. The high pr directories are out there-you just have to look for them. And they are a WHOLE LOT cheaper than the overpriced-soon to be irrelevant-directories.

"Whilst we all bash DMOZ, it's the only directory to keep it's high PR without getting dumped by Google"

    BECAUSE IT'S FREE!!!!!

These big directories got GREEDY! They should keep their submissions free and make money on ADVERTISING.
