I used a diet pill and it works well for me. I blog about it and last week a guy leave a comment asking if he should use the pill. I said why not since it work for me.

He wasn't feeling well yesterday and ask me if he should continue using the pill. For some reason his comment go straight to junk

Today he left me a comment saying that he was in hospital for a mlid heart attack and blame me for not answering his question:(

I feel bad now. I could have kill him if he heart attack is fatal

Sure you didn't sell him the pills.. You are not his doctor... It's not your fault.. If i recommend a car to someone its not my fault if they cant drive and crash it.. This guy has a weak ticker and he should have sort medical advice before taking anything..

I just noticed this should probably be in the General Chat forum..

I think the guy is probably lying to you.

It sounds like a scam to me, best you ignore is future, (there will be more), comments.

Sounds fishy to me, but on any future posts, I would make sure to add a disclaimer to consult with ones own doctor before taking any medication.

What sort of pill was it? If it was a bulking agent like asphagula husk they don't work anyway and certainly wouldn't contribute to a heart attack.

You shouldn't have told him to take the pill.

I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to sue you.

It's more of a legal issue than a blogging issue.

it is a diet pill that is really popular. Anyway, it is his choice to take the pill. I don't worry about being sue. However, if he die, i will feel kind of guilty

Wow, this is the problem with health related blogs.. that's why most people leave a disclaimer after their content. Did you have a section on your blog for that? Thank goodness he didn't sue you

How does that saying go? You should never recommend medicine or lawyers.

I too find this kind of fishy. I'm not sure if the guy is telling the truth or not.

Do you have any kind of disclaimer on your blog that tells visitors to check with doctors before using any medication?

If it is real you could be facing some legal action (whether or not he wins is another story).

It's possible.. you might just want to state: BUT consult a doctor first.. just to be safe :p

I'm not a lawyer of course, but if I went to a medical site that made itself out to be reliable and I asked you if I should take a pill and then as a result I falls ill then I could sue you for damages.

It's not like some guy off the street. It would be more like you dressed up like a doctor saying that I should take a pill.

    That's what he would argue.

Again I wouldn't worry unless you see some threat or get any legal papers.

I would stick on a disclaimer on your site. If you have a medical site a disclaimer is probably one of the first things you should have to protect you.

Take a look at this medical disclaimer if you need one:

Medicine doesn't work this way

You shouldn't advice someone to use a medicine just for the sake that it worked for you

Who said it was 'medicine'

I tell people to take creatine, protein, etc, etc for weight lifting. Of course they could have allergic reactions, it is their responsibility to check with their health care provider. Products that have a high possibility of bad effects also have warnings............
