$15 logo / header contest

Hi,

I need something simple yet professional for this site, preferably with an icon that I can use separately for e.g. the sites favicon.

Must be included:

- Logo in sizes 635 x 150 (for website) and 2000 x 2000 (for print material) with DPI of 300
- JPG and PSD format
- Any fonts used

That is what I created for the banner. The actual logo with the city silhouette is on a .psd 2000x2000 300 DPI.. If you like this, Please PM me and I will send through the rest of the images (3 more).

For what it's worth, I think, the above one has a cool idea there. The only thing that I would change (or at least add) is the silhouette of the Edinburgh Castle (as those that know Edinburgh, or even heard of it, do know about the Castle). It simply has to be there.

The Castle is on quite a bit of elevation/mountain. Reflection of that may also be played around, I guess.

So you would like the mountain cut off? And what do you referr to when you state "reflection"?

Here is my go, its simple but great for branding! I have it as the large 2000x2000 and the "E" would be the favicon.

Kittie, your overall idea is cool (I think) apart from a part of the Castle being under restoration (the right hand round part), and the slogan having Edinburgh misspelled...

I don't care what you do. It's khalid's project (he's the one paying for it). I am just commenting...

Hi everyone, thanks for your submissions. Sorry for the late reply, my site has been playing up.

I uploaded JimmyRP's submission to see what it would look like. I kind of favoured this design however I would like to change the black silhouette to the Edinburgh castle.

Also, if you look on the site, Joomla displays the location in the header image, so if the user is looking at accommodation it will display Home > Accommodation at the bottom left of the header, therefore the logo should leave space for this and preferable have a light background at the bottom so the text is easily read.

Jimmy, would you be able to do this? Other submissions, would you consider editing your designs to encorporate the above so I can see what they are like?

other than that, I think I have the home thing in there. Or I saved a new copy with the ;ocation box in it... update in 15 mins

Okay. I made the silhouette with castle edinburgh. 2 problem.. Castle Edinbourgh is on the top of a hill which makes things hard for a city silhouette. Another problem is that the castle has a very flat top with not to much architectural interest, whi created a fairly flat looking image. I will show both examples to see what you like.

 

Would you be able to move the lighter box to the left and extend it all the way to the right.

Keep the original silhouette, just make it slightly smaller so the green box can fit below.

I'd like to go with Jimmy's one, but you'll need to extend the green line completely from the left to the right.

Once you do that please allow me to check it on my site and if it fits fine then I'll pay you via paypal.
